[转推] zerohedge reposted 10 years ago today, Hillary Clinton tweeted the Alfa Bank hoax. Her campaign planted the story, shopped it to media, then used Slate's "reporting" to amplify the hoax. Democrat-aligned media did their job and provided Hillary with her fake October surprise.

[转推] zerohedge reposted WE ARE SUBMITTING A MOTION OF NO CONFIDENCE AGAINST THE TUSK GOVERNMENT. Our proposal: a technical government under the leadership of @marekjurek until the elections that will elect a new parliamentary majority. A reset in the Constitutional Tribunal is needed - numerous political groups agree on this: from Razem, through Rozwój Plus, to Konfederacja. The President and the legitimate President of the Constitutional Tribunal have also emphasized this. However, this cannot be a reset involving today's attackers on the CT! Their place is in the dustbin of history and before independent courts in the role of the accused. The mere end of this coalition's disastrous rule will only be the beginning - we need a concrete plan for what comes next, so that the dramatic scenes from yesterday never happen again. @RozwojPlus has this plan! 🇵🇱

[转推] zerohedge reposted Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

GOOGL, AMZN, INTC and More: 5 Stocks Investors Couldn't Stop Buzzing About This Week. Retail investors talked up five hot stocks during the week (Oct. 26 to Oct. 30) on X and Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets, driven by retail hype, earnings, AI infrastructure momentum, and corporate news flow. Alphabet Inc. GOOG GOOGL , Amazon.com Inc. AMZN , Intel Inc. INTC , Reddit Inc. RDDT , and Microsoft Corp. MSFT , spanning the internet search and advertising, e-commerce and cloud computing, semiconductor manufacturing, social media and online communities, and enterprise software and cloud services sectors, reflected strong retail interest. Alphabet GOOGL was in focus this week after reporting third-quarter earnings on Oct. 28 that missed expectations, with EPS of $2.12 versus a $2.99 estimate, even as Google Cloud revenue surged. The stock fell after the report as investors focused on heavy AI spending , with analysts warning that rising capital expenditures could pressure profitability. Losses tied to Alphabet’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp. SPCX investment were also a major factor in the earnings shortfall . Wall Street remained divided: Guggenheim reiterated Buy with a $450 target, while Barclays cut its target to $405, RBC to $400, Morgan Stanley to $375, and Citizens downgraded the stock to Market Perform. — Retail investors were anxious following the earnings-led fall in GOOGL’s stock. The stock has traded in the 52-week range of $270.70 to $408.61, around $280 to $284 per share, as of the publication of this article. It advanced by 3.37% over the last year and down 18.89% over the last six months. The stock was down 9.32% year-to-date. Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings showed that GOOGL had a weak price trend in the short, long and medium terms, with a moderate value score. Amazon.com AMZN was in focus this week after reporting third-quarter results on Oct. 29 that missed Wall Street estimates, with EPS of $1.89 versus $1.97 expected, while shares fell despite accelerating AWS growth. Amazon said AWS revenue grew more than 39% year over year to a $184 billion annualized run rate, and CEO Andy Jassy said AWS backlog reached $578 billion, up triple digits from a year earlier. Management also said it expects to spend meaningfully more on capital expenditures in 2027, projected AWS revenue growth above 40% in both 2027 and 2028, and plans to make its Trainium AI chips available outside AWS in late 2027. Earlier in the week, Amazon was also in focus after Anthropic, in which it is a major investor, filed for a Nasdaq IPO under the ticker ANT. Some retail investors were debating AMZN’s future revenue streams via their investments in data centers. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $196.00 to $287.20, trading around $225 to $244 per share, as of the publication of this article. It advanced by 5.86% over the last year and down 7.32% over the last six months. The stock was up 5.62% year-to-date. According to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings , AMZN was maintaining a weak price trend over the long, short, and medium terms, with a good growth score. Intel INTC was in focus this week after reporting third-quarter earnings on Oct. 29 that beat estimates, with EPS of 52 cents versus 37 cents expected, but shares sold off as management outlined a weaker PC market and heavier spending. CFO David Zinsner said Intel expects the 2026 PC unit market to decline about 12%, with second-half units down more than 20%, and said he does not expect positive cash flow this year. Intel also kept 2026 gross capex at $20 billion and said 2027 spending should rise strongly, while CEO Lip-Bu Tan said the server CPU market could expand from about $40 billion to more than $200 billion over five years. On Oct. 30, Bank of America and Roth Capital both downgraded Intel to Neutral, while New Street had upgraded the stock to Buy with a $125 target earlier in the week. Bullish retail investors were worried after INTC’s stock decline. The stock had a 52-week range of $32.89 to $142.35, trading around $67 to $93 per share, as of the publication of this article. It rose by 122.71% over the year and fell 2.83% in the last six months. The stock was up 149.51% YTD. INTC maintains a weak price trend over the long, medium, and short terms, as per Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings . Reddit RDDT was in focus this week after reporting third-quarter results on Oct. 29 that beat estimates, with EPS of $1.40 versus $1.36 expected and revenue of $895 million versus $878.0 million expected. Revenue rose 53% year over year, and trailing 12-month revenue crossed $3 billion, but softer guidance pressured the stock. On the earnings call, CEO Steve Huffman said total sessions declined because of lower search-referral traffic and that Google appeared to be ranking some machine-translated Reddit content lower, though he said the traffic decline did not reflect underlying consumer demand. Management also said Reddit had "dramatically reduced" the time needed to train and deploy new models. Retail investors were bullish on RDDT despite its massive decline. The stock had a 52-week range of $126.37 to $131.89, trading around $99 to $130 per share, as of the publication of this article. It fell by 38.51% over the year, down 12.28% over the last six months, and is down 43.62% YTD. According to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings , RDDT was maintaining a weak price trend over the short, long, and medium terms, with a good growth score. Microsoft MSFT was in focus this week after reporting fiscal first-quarter results on Oct. 28 that beat estimates, with EPS of $4.89 versus $4.72 expected, while Azure growth reached 48%. Management guided for 49% Azure growth in the second quarter and projected Agents and Infrastructure revenue of $80.1 billion to $80.7 billion, reinforcing the AI-led growth narrative. Microsoft also said roughly three-quarters of capex went toward short-lived assets such as CPUs and GPUs, highlighting the scale of AI infrastructure spending, and later moved toward a $25 billion bond sale. Analysts responded with higher targets, including Wells Fargo at $750, Bernstein at $722 and Citigroup at $680. Retail investors holding MSFT were rejoicing after its recent earnings report. The stock has traded in the 52-week range of $349.20 to $551.15, trading around $525 to $531 per share, as of the publication of this article. It fell by 2.11% over the year, up 24.90% over the last six months, and 9.62% YTD. According to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings , MSFT was maintaining a strong price trend over the short, long, and medium terms, with a good quality score. Retail focus comprised AI infrastructure momentum, earnings, and corporate news-driven narratives, with broader market action during the week.
