AI Selloff Deepens, Oil Jumps and Crypto Falls. By Joe Stonor A selloff in artificial-intelligence stocks accelerated after a fresh batch of quarterly results rocked market confidence, as investors seeking a safe place to park their cash pushed Treasury yields to multiweek lows. Nasdaq futures fell more than 2% after earnings from Intel and Amazon compounded investor fears caused by Alphabet's results earlier in the week. Intel is on track for its worst stock market day on record, with shares falling over 27% premarket after markets reacted violently to disruption to the company's supply chain and forecast a slowdown in personal-computer demand. Meanwhile, Amazon shares dropped 6.5% premarket despite booming growth in its cloud business as it ramped up its spending on AI while advertising revenue growth slowed. The prints were enough to spook an already nervous market. South Korea's semiconductor-heavy Kospi closed 3.5% lower, while Japan's Nikkei 225 dropped 2.1%. Shanghai-listed stocks also fell. AI-linked stocks dropped across Europe, with ASML--an Intel supplier--down 4.6%. Elsewhere, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.2%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.9%. Digital coins slid after cryptocurrency exchange Binance said it had suffered the largest heist in crypto history, with hackers making off with assets worth $6.3 billion. Bitcoin fell 1.5% to trade below $78,000, while ether fell by a similar amount to trade around $2,200. Treasurys strengthened as investors ditched risk. Ten-year Treasury yields fell sharply to trade just above 4.920%, while 30-year yields hovered around 5.290%. Two-year yields fell back to levels last seen in early September, trading below 4.600% as investors trimmed their expectations for a December Federal Reserve rate hike. Oil prices jumped, adding to the risk-off mood. Brent crude contracts for December--which expire today--rose 1.6% to trade around $117.70 a barrel, while contracts for January delivery traded around $112.50 a barrel. Investors are seizing on fears the U.S. could resume military strikes against Iran, after the top American commander in the Middle East briefed President Trump on military options, The Wall Street Journal reported. The dollar slipped and gold briefly fell below $4,000 a troy ounce, before paring some losses. For the day ahead, investors will react to eurozone inflation data and U.S. third-quarter employment cost index. Earnings prints come from ExxonMobil and Chevron, among others. Intel Says PC Slowdown Came 'Sooner and Deeper' Than Expected — Analyst Warns AI-Driven CPU Boom May Not Offset Foundry Investment Risks. Intel Corp. ‘s INTC AI-driven server demand offers a growth opportunity, but a deeper PC slowdown and costly foundry investments threaten its turnaround, says analyst. Rising memory prices have been weighing on PC demand, particularly laptops, but the slowdown “came a little sooner and deeper than we thought,” Intel’s corporate vice president of investor relations, John Pitzer , told MarketWatch. Despite progress in chip manufacturing, Intel’s latest results highlighted the challenges of turning its turnaround efforts into a “sustained recovery,” eMarketer senior analyst Asa Hiken told the publication. Intel has benefited from a surge in data-center server CPU demand driven by the rise of agentic AI, strengthening its position in the AI market beyond traditional GPU competition. However, Hiken cautioned that the demand may not be enough to offset near-term challenges, particularly continued weakness in the PC market. The chipmaker’s long-term growth hinges largely on its foundry business, with its advanced chip-packaging technology emerging as a promising area attracting customer interest and Wall Street optimism, Hiken said. Hiken noted that Intel faces massive chipmaking costs and must secure significant foundry customer commitments to justify its investments and reassure investors about the business’s viability. Weak Q4 Outlook Overshadows Earnings Beat In the third quarter, Intel beat quarterly earnings and revenue estimates, reporting adjusted EPS of 52 cents against expectations of 40 cents and revenue of $16.51 billion versus the $16.47 billion consensus. However, its fourth-quarter guidance disappointed , with projected adjusted EPS of 25 cents and revenue of $15 billion-$16 billion, both below analyst expectations. CEO Lip-Bu Tan said CPU demand remains “robust” despite near-term PC industry weakness, with the company prioritizing increased supply of its Xeon processors while strengthening its product lineup and roadmap to drive long-term growth and shareholder value. Intel’s stock slumped about 23% after hours on Thursday, prompting CNBC’s Jim Cramer , who had previously called it his favorite stock, to express anger and disappointment. Deepwater Asset Management ’s Gene Munster attributed the weak outlook to slowing PC demand amid high memory costs, cautioning that Intel’s challenges should not be viewed as a warning for Nvidia Corp. NVDA , which continues to beat estimates. Benzinga’s Edge Rankings place INTC in the 94th percentile for momentum. Benzinga’s screener allows you to compare INTC’s performance with its peers. Elon Musk's SpaceX Could Be the Biggest Bargain on Earth, Investor Says. Space Exploration Technologies Corp. SPCX stock fell nearly 3% in Friday’s premarket trading as investors pulled back from riskier stocks amid a sharp decline in technology futures. Nasdaq futures dropped 2.17%, while S&P 500 futures declined 0.91%. SpaceX is attracting bullish commentary from investors who see Starlink, rocket launches and expanding AI infrastructure as long-term growth drivers, despite substantial capital requirements and growing competition in satellite broadband. Fitz-Gerald Calls SpaceX Deeply Undervalued Keith Fitz-Gerald of Fitz-Gerald Group told CNBC SpaceX could represent one of the biggest bargains in the investment world, calling it the “single most undervalued opportunity on the planet.” He argued that the company’s ability to reshape industries, despite controversy surrounding its business, creates a compelling long-term investment opportunity. Fitz-Gerald contrasted SpaceX with Anthropic, which he described as a potentially generational investment opportunity but one carrying significant risks. He raised concerns about Anthropic’s technology, AI safety disclosures and potential initial public offering, warning that post-IPO volatility could challenge investors. Ark Sees AI Expansion Fueling Growth Ark Invest’s Frank Downing told CNBC that his confidence in SpaceX is growing as the company advances its AI infrastructure plans. Downing said SpaceX could add roughly 10 gigawatts of computing capacity, requiring substantial investment and additional fundraising. He expects strong returns from renting computing capacity in short-term markets, citing favorable pricing trends. Tesla Could Help Finance AI Expansion Downing said a potential combination with Tesla Inc. TSLA could provide SpaceX with cash flow from Tesla’s future robotaxi operations. Ark expects robotaxis to generate substantial cash flow and improve Tesla’s margins, potentially helping finance SpaceX’s AI expansion. Downing also sees an opportunity for SpaceX to deploy space-based AI data centers beginning in the second half of 2027, potentially avoiding local opposition and environmental concerns that could delay terrestrial projects. Amazon Leo Intensifies Competition Meanwhile, Amazon.com Inc. AMZN is advancing its satellite broadband service, Amazon Leo, formerly known as Project Kuiper . Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the service remains on track for an initial launch this year. Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky said Amazon expects to begin capitalizing certain satellite and launch costs in the first quarter of 2027 while expensing most Leo-related costs in the fourth quarter of 2026. The rollout could intensify competition with SpaceX’s Starlink service. SPCX Price Action SPCX Stock Price Activity: SpaceX shares were down 2.64% at $140.09 during premarket trading on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data .

Alvarado said investors should focus on the path ahead as “elevated energy and other goods prices, geopolitical disruptions, and strong AI-related investment demand continue to fuel inflation pressures.” He added, “In our view, these pressures should ultimately prompt additional Fed rate hikes and keep longer-term interest rates elevated,” while also warning that tariffs, higher borrowing costs, and fading fiscal support could make the path through 2027 bumpier. He said those crosscurrents argue for selectivity, writing that “bumps in the road do not necessarily mean the economy is headed off course” and that he still expects resilience through 2027 as consumer spending stays buoyant and liquidity and bank lending conditions provide support. He also wrote, “Markets rarely offer investors an all-clear signal.” Upcoming Economic Data Here’s what investors will be keeping an eye on Friday. Anthony Scaramucci Says Trump Has Done ‘Everything Putin Has Wanted,’ From Ukraine Military Aid Freeze to Starlink Restrictions: ‘How Can You Not See the Link?’. SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci has accused President Donald Trump of repeatedly advancing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interests through decisions involving Ukraine, NATO, nuclear arms agreements and satellite communications. Scaramucci Lists Trump’s Decisions That Allegedly Benefited Russia On Thursday, Scaramucci took to X to outline what he described as a series of decisions that have worked in Putin’s favor. “Trump has done everything Putin has wanted him to do,” he wrote, pointing to Trump’s 2018 Helsinki summit with Putin, where the president appeared to question U.S. intelligence agencies’ findings on Russian election interference. Scaramucci also cited Trump’s push to readmit Russia into the Group of Seven, his 2019 decision to temporarily withhold military assistance to Ukraine and the withdrawal of U.S. troops from parts of Syria . He further criticized Trump for questioning NATO’s defense commitments, lifting sanctions on companies linked to Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska , while keeping sanctions on Deripaska himself. lifting sanctions on companies linked to Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska and withdrawing from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and Open Skies Treaty. Starlink Restrictions And Russian Diesel Deal Draw Criticism In a video from his appearance on The Daily Beast Podcast with Joanna Coles , Scaramucci also questioned restrictions on satellite connectivity for Ukraine. “There is no way Elon Musk did that without the U.S. president telling him to do that,” he said, referring to Space Exploration Technologies Corp.’s SPCX Starlink services and military-grade Starshield network. Scaramucci also criticized the diesel fuel arrangement with Russia, arguing that the U.S. could have secured additional supplies from Canada instead. He said that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney could have provided 4% more supply, questioning why Washington would pursue an arrangement with Moscow while maintaining tensions with Ottawa . Could Trump’s Russia Policy Fracture Republican Support Scaramucci argued that Putin’s actions across Europe make him an adversary of the West, not a reliable partner. He also questioned why Republicans were not more concerned about Trump’s approach, suggesting the president’s handling of Russia could eventually turn members of his own party against him. “How can you not see the link?” Scaramucci wrote on X. Anthony Scaramucci @Scaramucci Trump has done everything Putin has wanted him to do. In Helsinki he stood with Putin and disclaimed U.S. intelligence. He lobbied to bring Russia back into the G-7. INTC Stock Heads for Worst Single-Day Drop in Over 2 Years, but CEO Lip-Bu Tan Says AI Agents Could Drive Server CPU Market to $200 Billion. Intel Corp. INTC shares plunged about 25.60% in Friday’s pre-market trading, putting the stock on course for its worst single-day decline in more than two years, even as CEO Lip-Bu Tan predicted artificial intelligence (AI) agents could drive the server CPU market beyond $200 billion. Intel’s Earnings Beat Overshadowed By Weak Outlook Intel reported third-quarter revenue of $16.51 billion, up 21%, and adjusted earnings of 52 cents per share, exceeding analysts’ expectations of 40 cents. If this decline holds during Friday’s regular trading session, the stock would be on track for its worst single-day performance in more than two years. However, Intel forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $15 billion to $16 billion, below Wall Street’s $17.07 billion estimate. Its 25-cent adjusted earnings outlook also disappointed investors. Reuters reported that an explosion at Intel’s Israeli factory could reduce revenue by approximately $600 million over two quarters. Rising memory costs and weakening PC demand added pressure. Lip-Bu Tan Predicts Fivefold CPU Market Expansion "The resurgence in demand for CPU is a meaningful tailwind for us along our transformation journey," Tan told analysts during Thursday’s earnings call. "While GPUs are great at thinking tasks, deterministic CPUs are more efficient at doing tasks," he added, emphasizing energy efficiency as AI agents increasingly execute computational workloads. "By our estimates, server CPU TAM, largely driven by agentic workloads, could increase as much as five times from where it is today, from $40 billion to more than $200 billion over five years. This makes the opportunity for Intel enormous." Intel also expanded its collaboration with Oracle Corp. ORCL to support enterprise and agentic AI workloads using Xeon processors. Analysts Weigh Strong Demand Against Supply Constraints Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman argued Intel’s weak guidance "isn’t a demand issue," pointing instead to capacity expansion and product mix. Daniel Newman @danielnewmanUV $INTC had a pretty good quarter this quarter but has some questions to answer on the guide. Realistically it isn't a demand issue, but more related expanding capacity and perhaps mix shift. https://t.co/nhl9QsUEYy Oct 29, 2026 However, Futurum strategist Shay Boloor warned that production constraints could allow Advanced Micro Devices Inc. AMD and Nvidia Corp. NVDA to capture server CPU customers. Shay Boloor @StockSavvyShay $INTC CEO sees server CPU market growing 5x to over $200B in five years as AI agents take off saying "the ratio of CPU to GPUs used to be 1-to-8 and now it is 1-to-4." That's effectively twice as many CPUs per GPU as AI agents run more code and tools which could create another… pic.twitter.com/vFli4Macvo Oct 29, 2026 Meanwhile, Seaport Research Partners analyst Jay Goldberg told Reuters on Thursday, following Intel’s third-quarter earnings, "I think we entered earnings season with the market in a pessimistic mood. No result is good enough, and bad results receive extra punishment." Intel’s data-center business nevertheless delivered its strongest revenue growth in 15 years, according to management. The company must now expand manufacturing capacity to capitalize on Tan’s projected AI opportunity.
