Semiconductor Stocks Are Cheaper Than the S&P 500: Is It Time to Buy SOXX and SMH ETFs. Semiconductor stocks are experiencing a dramatic valuation reset, potentially creating an opportunity for investors seeking exposure to the AI trade through ETFs. The S&P 500 Semiconductors Index’s forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio fell to 14.7x on October 30, down from approximately 33x a year earlier, according to LSEG data. The multiple is now below the S&P 500’s forward P/E of 18.9x, reversing the premium semiconductor stocks commanded during much of the AI rally. The correction has hit semiconductor ETFs particularly hard. The iShares Semiconductor ETF SOXX plunged 8.24% on Friday, while the VanEck Semiconductor ETF SMH fell 6.98%. The SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (NYSE: XSD ) declined 6.30%. SOXX, SMH and XSD lost 17.1%,14.2%, 14.6%, respectively, during October. SOXX Vs. SMH: Portfolio Concentration Matters The selloff also highlights differences in how semiconductor ETFs distribute their exposure. SOXX has 34 holdings, with Advanced Micro Devices AMD accounting for 9.24% of its portfolio, Intel Corp INTC , 6.33%, Nvidia Corp NVDA 7.98%, Micron Technology, Inc MU 7.95% and Broadcom, Inc AVGO 7.58%. Its exposure to Nvidia and AMD makes it particularly sensitive to weakness among these chipmakers. In October, Nvidia retreated more than 10% and AMD, 17.5%. SMH, with 26 holdings, is considerably more concentrated in leading semiconductor companies. Nvidia represents approximately 20.19% of its portfolio, followed by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing TSM (9.58%), Texas Instruments Inc TXN (5.70%), Broadcom (5.61%) and AMD (5.34%). This concentration helped SMH outperform SOXX during the October 30 selloff, partly because Intel accounted for just 3.07% of SMH’s portfolio. XSD offers a different approach through a more evenly distributed portfolio. However, its 6.30% single-day decline on Friday demonstrates that diversification within the semiconductor industry cannot eliminate sector-wide risks. Is the Valuation Reset a Buying Opportunity? The latest correction followed disappointing guidance from Intel, alongside growing concerns about the sustainability of massive AI infrastructure investments. Intel shares plunged 28.6% on October 30, while AMD dropped 10.9% and Nvidia declined 4.2%. For SOXX, resistance levels appear to be forming near the $530 mark, according to Benzinga Pro , where the stock has previously encountered selling pressure. If the price can break through this level, it may signal a shift in momentum, potentially attracting more buyers and leading to further gains. For XSD, support levels appear to be forming around the recent closing price of $452.10, which may serve as a critical point for buyers looking to enter the market. Should the price dip below this level, it could trigger further selling pressure, pushing the ETF closer to the lower end of its 52-week range. Resistance is likely near $471.49, where the ETF has struggled to maintain upward momentum. A sustained break above this threshold could signal a shift in market sentiment and potentially attract more bullish investors. However, technical indicators analyzed by Benzinga suggest that SMH is in a cautious position. While it has shown resilience above the recent support level, the distance to resistance suggests further bullish momentum will require stronger catalysts. Bottom Line For semiconductor ETF investors, the decline in forward valuations could present an opportunity if earnings growth remains resilient. However, a lower P/E does not automatically mean stocks are undervalued. Downward revisions to earnings estimates could undermine the apparent valuation discount. The next catalysts will be hyperscaler capital expenditure plans, semiconductor earnings revisions and demand trends across AI chips, memory and data-center infrastructure. For SOXX, SMH and XSD investors, the key question is no longer whether semiconductor valuations have corrected, but whether earnings can justify buying the sector at these lower multiples.

Oracle Shares Dip Monday: What's Happening. Oracle Corporation ORCL shares are trading lower Monday after Bloomberg reported that the company kicked off a $10 billion sale of U.S. investment-grade bonds. Oracle stock is facing resistance. Why is ORCL stock retreating? Oracle Launches $10 Billion Investment-Grade Bond Sale According to Bloomberg, which cited a person familiar with the matter, Oracle began marketing the $10 billion offering Monday, just days after the company said it would undertake only $20 billion of additional capital raises over the next several years. Oracle Offering Follows $20B Capital Raise Cap Pledge Through Fiscal 2030 Last week, Oracle said it is committed to limiting additional funding raised in the capital markets for its fiscal 2027 to fiscal 2030 investment cycle to $20 billion, currently expected to be $10 billion in equity and $10 billion in gross debt, excluding refinancing of existing debt. The company said its capital spending is expected to peak in fiscal 2027 and 2028 and step down in fiscal 2029, supporting free cash flow of at least $30 billion that year. In fiscal 2026, Oracle raised $43 billion in debt and $5 billion in equity to fund the build-out of its AI data centers. Oracle also reaffirmed its fiscal 2027 outlook for revenue of at least $90 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share of $8.10. Oracle Shares Drop ORCL Price Action: At the time of publication, Oracle shares are trading 4.21% lower at $125.16, according to data from Benzinga Pro .

SpaceX Pursues Wireless Back Door After Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T Reportedly Said No. Space Exploration Technologies Corp. SPCX shares are trading modestly higher Monday after a Washington Post report that SpaceX is seeking a back door into the U.S. wireless market after the major carriers rebuffed its requests for network access. Shares of Verizon Communications Inc. VZ , T-Mobile US Inc. TMUS and AT&T Inc. T are trading lower today. SpaceX stock is gaining positive traction. Why is SPCX stock advancing? SpaceX Carrier Talks with Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T Fell Through According to The Washington Post, which cited nearly a dozen people in the telecom industry speaking anonymously, Elon Musk approached the heads of America’s top carriers in recent months and asked them to give SpaceX access to their networks so it could launch its own mobile phone service. Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T all said no, the Post reported. The possibility of SpaceX securing an agreement to operate a mobile network has rattled the carriers, according to the report. SpaceX Weighs Boost Mobile Path into Wireless The Post reported that SpaceX has held talks with Boost Mobile’s parent company, EchoStar Corporation ECHO , in recent months about launching its own wireless service, and that Musk met EchoStar chairman Charlie Ergen last month, according to two people familiar with the negotiations. A deal could involve SpaceX acquiring Boost or gaining access to its network, which Boost leases from AT&T and T-Mobile. Three of the people said a carrier’s lease agreement typically can’t be transferred to a new buyer without the carrier’s permission, so the proposed service may need consent from those carriers. MoffettNathanson estimates the U.S. wireless market is worth $235 billion. SpaceX Eyes Major Carrier Status as Analysts Flag Hurdles On SpaceX’s recent earnings call, CFO Bret Johnsen said the company aims to become a major mobile carrier in the United States. The Post reported that SpaceX agreed earlier this month to buy $8 billion of wireless spectrum licenses. "This is the last critical piece of the spectrum puzzle needed for SpaceX to provide complete phone coverage in America," Musk said on X. Last week, Bloomberg reported that SpaceX wants at least 80,000 cell sites to build its own network. Analysts see obstacles. Satellite analyst Tim Farrar said SpaceX’s satellite signal isn’t currently strong enough to support indoor and urban coverage, and a deal with a carrier like Boost could let it provide service over existing towers in the meantime. Verizon’s CEO has said it would take SpaceX four to six years to build the needed infrastructure, while Musk has estimated about half that. SpaceX Shares Edge Higher SPCX Price Action: At the time of writing, SpaceX shares are trading 1.65% higher at $136.95, according to data from Benzinga Pro .

Marvell Could Be Making a $115 Billion Mistake With Lumentum Purchase — Barrons.com. By Kit Norton Marvell Technology may have picked the worst time to decide to acquire Lumentum Holdings at a valuation of $115 billion. The acquisition, announced early Monday, wasn't much of a surprise to Wall Street after Bloomberg reported last week the two companies were in advanced talks. But now the details have been confirmed with Marvell agreeing to acquire Lumentum in an all-stock transaction that values Lumentum at $115 billion, or $1,132 a share per Lumentum share. The price tag represents a 24% premium from the closing price on Oct. 28, the day before Bloomberg reported the two companies were discussing a merger. Marvell stock fell 3.1% to $190.21 in premarket trading on Monday after ending Friday down 10%. Lumentum stock, meanwhile, dropped 5% to $798 before the opening bell and was on pace to add to a 8.6% decline from Friday. Shares of Marvell have declined 22% since the closing bell on Oct. 28. There's no doubt that the acquisition is a bet on the continuation of surging artificial-intelligence demand and the buildout to support it. The merger also comes at a time when, to put it mildly, the AI trade is in trouble as Wall Street concerns have spread from the so-called neocloud sector to the Big Tech companies that have been the engine for the AI buildout. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite declined 5.3% last month, marking its worst monthly performance since March 2025. Sentiment has seriously shifted, especially with interest rates making debt much more of a risk even for companies with robust balance sheets. "Until now, investors have tended to focus on the neoclouds as one of the weaker links in the AI chain, while assuming that the hyperscalers had more than enough earnings from their legacy businesses to fund enormous AI investment and comfortably cover their cost of capital," William Blair analyst Richard de Chazal said in a research note Monday. That has changed following earnings from Alphabet, Amazon.com, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and others. "This past week's volatility is indicative of investors asking those important questions, and becoming a little more skeptical of expected future revenue growth against the vast scale of investment taking place today," de Chazal added. "They are increasingly looking for diversification and protection." Bank of America economist Claudio Irigoyen also was somewhat pessimistic. "Investors are increasingly concerned about the AI trade, and the more capex keeps growing, the more risks loom. Will firms be able to monetize their investments, or could the speed of adoption disappoint?" Irigoyen said in a research note. "The tightening in global financial conditions is also a first-order risk. AI capex and financial conditions are connected, with higher interest rates at least partly reflecting increased supply to finance AI investment," the economist added. But Wall Street is divided on the question of the AI trade. A Citi analyst team led by Heath Terry said that to underestimate the Big Tech companies could be a mistake. "We continue to believe that the market is underestimating AI-driven revenue growth at the hyperscalers despite upward revisions post-3Q results and ongoing infrastructure constraints," Terry said in a research note. Citi indicated that combined revenue in the third quarter from Amazon Web Services, or AWS, Meta, Google, and Microsoft accelerated more than 25% from a year ago and that Big Tech capital spending plans implies about 30% combined revenue growth in 2027. That's enough for the firm to remain optimistic about the chances for those Big Tech companies to more than capitalize on AI even as spending continues to increase. Citi estimated that global AI spending will total around $1.7 trillion in 2027 up 64% from 2026 with the top four hyperscalers accounting for about 64% of the overall investment next year. "We expect accelerating enterprise adoption to sustain the AI trade, despite bottlenecks around equipment, regulation, and financing," the Citi analysts said. That would certainly be good news for Marvell and its $115 billion merger. Marvell and Lumentum said the combined company's total addressable market is likely to expand to around $550 billion as the merger brings together two of the largest players in the optical-networking sector, which has become a key cog in the AI trade. Ever-larger data centers require optical transceivers to efficiently transfer data by converting electrical signals into light. It's a fast-growing business in the AI boom. Marvell makes the digital signal processors within those transceivers, while Lumentum produces lasers and other components. "AI infrastructure is undergoing a fundamental architectural shift toward optical connectivity, creating an opportunity that comes along once in a generation," Marvell CEO Matt Murphy said in a media release. But as risks loom and the stock market turns ever more pessimistic on AI spending, Marvell might have been several months late with its decision to make such a large bet on the AI buildout. EchoStar Shares Climb on WaPo Report that SpaceX Is In Talks to Buy Boost Mobile, Use Its Network. By Connor Hart Shares of EchoStar climbed after The Washington Post reported that SpaceX has held talks with the parent company of Boost Mobile in recent months. The stock rose 4.7% in premarket trading Monday. Through Friday's close, shares are down about 11% year to date. The talks revolve around SpaceX's goal to operate a mobile network. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been personally involved, meeting with EchoStar chairman Charlie Ergen last month to discuss SpaceX acquiring Boost Mobile or gaining access to its network, according to the WaPo report, which cited two people familiar with the negotiations. Access to Boost Mobile's network, which is leased from AT&T and T-Mobile US, would be a coup for SpaceX, the report said, allowing Musk to make a play for a U.S. wireless market that equity research firm MoffettNathanson estimates is worth $235 billion. AMD, Micron Selloff Is 'Just the Beginning,' Tom Sosnoff Says. Tastytrade founder Tom Sosnoff expects the pullback in the market’s most crowded chip stocks to continue, telling CNBC Monday morning that the rally’s biggest winners have yet to fall anywhere close to oversold levels. The big names at "the top of the funnel"—pointing to Nvidia Corp. NVDA , Advanced Micro Devices Inc. AMD and Micron Technology Inc. MU —are carrying the broader market, he said. The problem? When leadership is this narrow, and such a small group of tech stocks powers a large share of the market’s gains, as has been the case in recent years, weakness in a few names can drag on major indexes more than usual. NVDA stock is moving Monday. See the chart and price action here. Intel Stands Apart Sosnoff argues that the recent declines in Nvidia, AMD and Micron have been sharp but not deep enough to wash out the excess. Before he calls any of them oversold, he wants to see a 25% to 35% drop. Anything less, in his framework, still looks like an ordinary pullback for stocks with such large runs behind them. Intel Corp. INTC is the exception in Sosnoff’s view. The tech company’s shares, trading around $65 after its own selloff, are arguably already oversold. Intel shares plunged 28.58% on Friday, one of the steepest single-day drops in the company’s history, and were trading near $65 on Monday, per Benzinga Pro data. The collapse helps explain why Sosnoff views Intel as arguably oversold while still expecting more downside in Nvidia, AMD and Micron. A Choppy Week Ahead Sosnoff expects trading this week to be "choppy" and cautioned against chasing Monday morning’s rebound, saying the bounce was a hard spot to buy. Better opportunities, he suggested, are more likely to appear around midweek, when oversold conditions in individual names could set up cleaner entry points. Timing matters in his playbook. Waiting a day or two for sellers to exhaust themselves can produce a far better price than jumping in on the first green candle. His outlook reflects his background. Sosnoff co-founded the thinkorswim trading platform before launching tastytrade, and both businesses center on options trading, volatility and active risk management. His calls tend to focus on price levels and probabilities rather than long-term conviction on a single company. What Traders Are Watching The key question is whether chip leaders can find support or whether Sosnoff’s 25% to 35% threshold comes into play. A decline of that size in Nvidia, AMD and Micron would mark a significant reset for the stocks most responsible for the market’s gains. Apple Inc. AAPL and Palantir Technologies Inc. PLTR headline a crowded week of earnings, with both on Monday’s calendar and AMD scheduled to follow after Tuesday’s close, giving traders a fresh read on tech demand after disappointing reports from Meta Platforms META and Alphabet Inc. GOOGL rattled the sector last week. Traders will be watching Monday’s and midweek price action closely for signs of capitulation, including heavy volume and sharp intraday reversals. Sosnoff’s read suggests any real bottom in the group is still some distance away.

Tech companies tap debt, equity to fund AI and cloud expansion. The world's largest technology companies are tapping debt markets and raising equity to bolster AI infrastructure, marking a shift for Silicon Valley firms that typically relied on cash to fund their investments. Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft and Meta have signaled that spending on AI would not slow down. Tech giants' combined spending is set to exceed $730 billion this year, up from about $700 billion previously. The AI boom has entered a "more dangerous phase," marked by exponentially rising investments in physical infrastructure and growing reliance on outside capital, according to an analysis by Bridgewater Associates in February. META PLATFORMS The Instagram parent META said in October it plans to raise up to $95 billion through a $35 billion offering of common and convertible preferred stock and an at-the-market share sale program of up to $60 billion after its Class C shares begin trading in early 2027. The social media giant has also tightened its annual capital expenditure range to $135 billion to $145 billion, from between $130 billion and $145 billion. Last year, Meta filed for its largest bond offering ever of up to $30 billion. Particulars Value Debt outstanding $84 billion Cash and cash equivalents $11.22 billion Next bond payment $2.66 billion due on August 15, 2027 SPACEX SpaceX SPCX said in October it had signed an agreement with Apollo Global Management APO , under which an affiliate of the investment firm will buy AI chips and servers to lease them to the Elon Musk-led company, with total principal payments of about $40 billion. Before the deal's announcement, Musk had said in an X post that SpaceX "closed" $40 billion in debt financing for graphics processing units. Musk said the funding mainly targets chips arriving in the first and second quarters and would not be "a major factor this quarter." Also in October, the rocket firm's finance chief, Bret Johnsen, said the company still expects fourth-quarter capital expenditure of $35 billion to $40 billion. Particulars Value Debt outstanding $25.03 billion Cash and cash equivalents $51.29 billion Next bond payment $700 million due on December 15, 2027 AMAZON Amazon.com is looking to raise at least $25 billion from the US bond market, Bloomberg News reported in July, citing people familiar with the matter. The tech giant filed for an eight-part offering of floating and fixed-rate notes, according to a regulatory filing. Amazon is issuing senior unsecured bonds, with maturities ranging from three to 40 years, as per a term sheet seen by Reuters. In June, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it has issued C$14 billion of Canadian dollar-denominated notes, marking a record size for the Canadian corporate bond market. It is also preparing to issue a six-part bond offering in Swiss franc denomination for the first time, a person familiar with the matter had told Reuters in May. Separately, the e-commerce giant is looking to raise about $37 billion in an 11-part bond sale, according to a term sheet seen by Reuters in March. Particulars Value Debt outstanding $162.57 billion Cash and cash equivalents $55.78 billion Next bond payment $2 billion due on April 13, 2027 NVIDIA Nvidia NVDA had said in June it would raise $25 billion through a US bond issuance, as it taps the debt market to increase liquidity for the first time since 2021. The bond consists of seven tranches of notes, maturing as late as 2056, according to a term sheet seen by Reuters. Particulars Value Debt outstanding $32.50 billion Cash and cash equivalents $22.44 billion Next bond payment $1.25 billion due on June 15, 2028 SALESFORCE Cloud software provider Salesforce CRM in March said it has priced a $25 billion debt offering to help fund a major share buyback. The company announced a $50 billion repurchase program and lifted its dividend by 5.8% in February. The company had last issued US bonds in 2021, securing $8 billion to support its acquisition of communication platform Slack. Particulars Value Debt outstanding $33.50 billion Cash and cash equivalents $8.31 billion Next bond payment $3.50 billion due on March 15, 2028 ORACLE Oracle ORCL is planning to raise $20 billion through the sale of bonds and new shares, according to US regulatory filings in November. Oracle in February said it expects to raise $45 billion to $50 billion in 2026 in a combination of debt and stock to build additional capacity for its cloud infrastructure. The cloud company was sued in January by bondholders who said they suffered losses because the company failed to disclose it needed to sell significant additional debt to build out its AI infrastructure. In September 2025, the company, chaired by Larry Ellison, filed to raise about $18 billion in debt in a six-part offering to fund AI infrastructure, after investing billions in 2025. Particulars Value Debt outstanding $120.50 billion Cash and cash equivalents $36.37 billion Next bond payment $2.25 billion due on April 1, 2027 ALPHABET Alphabet is looking to raise between $20 billion and $25 billion from its latest US bond offering, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters in August. The company is offering notes in as many as 10 parts, a regulatory filing showed. The offering came after the Google parent raised its 2026 spending forecast and highlighted plans for increased AI-related investments amid growing investor scrutiny of returns on such spending. In June, the company said it was looking to raise $80 billion in equity offerings, including an investment from Berkshire Hathaway BRK.A . It increased the size of its equity offerings to $84.75 billion after seeing strong investor demand. The deal brings in Warren Buffett's diversified holding company as a major new investor, adding a high-profile endorsement of Alphabet's long-term AI and cloud strategy. Alphabet also issued Japanese yen-denominated bonds for the first time, it disclosed in a filing in May. The issuance is expected to total several hundred billion yen, a source with direct knowledge of the deal said. The tech giant sold a rare, 100-year bond worth 1 billion pounds ($1.35 billion) in February, as part of a global $31.51 billion debt raise. Oracle's stock falls as the company details plan to raise $20 billion. By Emily Bary Oracle has been borrowing money and issuing stock to help finance its AI cloud growth Oracle's stock is set to fall on Monday. Oracle is raising more money to finance its artificial-intelligence cloud buildout. The technology giant announced Monday that it plans a $10 billion stock offering. Oracle (ORCL) will also conduct a $10 billion debt offering. The company noted in a filing that the proceeds will go toward "general corporate purposes," including capital expenditures, debt repayments or future investments. Capital expenditures refer to money spent on data-center infrastructure, equipment and other related assets. Oracle shares are down 4% in premarket action on Monday. Last week, Oracle's management team seemingly calmed Wall Street's nerves with its discussion of the financing that could be expected in the future. In short, the company said it was "committed to limiting additional funding to be raised in the capital markets" through the fiscal year ending in May 2030. The company was targeting $20 billion in financing for that stretch. That's the aggregate amount of the offerings announced on Monday. Oracle has been borrowing money to finance its buildout of cloud-computing capacity as it chases big opportunities with OpenAI and other AI players. Shares of Oracle have fallen 61% from their peak close in September 2025, a reflection of jitters over the company's ability to generate appropriate returns on its AI investments and pay off its debt. The company painted a better-than-expected picture of its financial prospects during last week's investor day, noting a target for positive free cash flow during the second half of the fiscal year that ends next May. Analysts were expecting negative free cash flow for that period, meaning they anticipated the company would spend more on capital expenditures and operating costs than it would generate in cash through its business. -Emily Bary This content was created by MarketWatch, which is operated by Dow Jones & Co. Airwaves a Wireless Carrier Sold in August Are Now Part of a Satellite Operator's Mobile Plans. SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fly on Wall Street News Commentary - Connecting ordinary phones to satellites is turning into a contest over airwaves. During October, SpaceX said federal regulators approved its next-generation Starlink Mobile constellation, agreed to buy a nationwide block of 800 MHz licenses that T-Mobile sold earlier this year, and reported its third-quarter results, while AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile reported their own quarters between October 21 and October 28. Active Companies from around the markets with current developments this week include: Space Exploration Technologies Corp. ( SPCX ) , T-Mobile US, Inc. ( TMUS ) , Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ) , AT&T Inc. ( T ) , Iridium Communications Inc. ( IRDM ) . In an October 8 update, SpaceX said it had agreed to acquire a nationwide portfolio of low-band licenses covering up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 800 MHz band. By SpaceX's account, its global 2 GHz mid-band spectrum will carry high-bandwidth capacity in the United States, and the new low-band airwaves will add a coverage layer so the Starlink Mobile signal can penetrate obstacles like walls and serve customers' devices inside buildings; the company added that the band is already supported by most existing mobile devices. The same update said the Federal Communications Commission approved the Starlink Mobile Gen2 constellation application, authorizing SpaceX to launch 15,000 satellites optimized for 2 GHz spectrum globally. The FCC's Authorization and Order, adopted and released October 6 by its Space Bureau and Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, is marked granted in part and deferred in part, with conditions; among the deferred items is SpaceX's proposed use of the 2020-2025 MHz band in the United States. The update does not state a purchase price for the licenses, and SpaceX's third-quarter release says the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory and other customary closing conditions. The licenses came from T-Mobile. According to T-Mobile's quarterly report filed October 28, the carrier completed the sale of its 800 MHz spectrum licenses to affiliates of Grain Management, LLC on August 10, 2026, receiving $2.9 billion in cash plus Grain's 600 MHz spectrum licenses, valued at $690 million, for total consideration of $3.6 billion. Under the deal, T-Mobile is entitled to a 50% share of future proceeds from Grain transactions that monetize the 800 MHz licenses, above Grain's invested capital, certain expenses and a specified return on its investment. The filing states that Grain signed a purchase and sale agreement for those licenses with Space Exploration Technologies Corp. on October 8, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, and that T-Mobile has not recognized an associated gain for this potential additional consideration. Carrier shares fell sharply the next trading day. On Friday, October 9, T-Mobile closed at $148.58, down 13.27% from its October 8 close of $171.31. Verizon closed at $41.65 and AT&T at $22.18 on a day both stocks went ex-dividend; adjusted for those dividends, the declines were 8.75% and 9.81%. SpaceX rose 1.25% to $162.57. The three carriers already have a joint venture of their own aimed at satellite service: the same T-Mobile filing says it was formed with AT&T and Verizon on September 14 to pool certain spectrum resources, adding capacity and helping satellite providers reach more customers on a single unified platform, with the goal of ending wireless dead zones across the U.S., rural areas included. Last Friday, October 30, T-Mobile closed at $156.44, up 6.21% on the day, and SpaceX closed at $134.72, down 6.37%. Sessions like October 9, when three carrier stocks each dropped more than 8%, show why it helps to read the chart as well as the headline.
